Introducing the Prestige Used Chamber Marketplace: A Cleaner Way to Sell (and Find) a Pre-Owned Unit

We built the Prestige Used Chamber Marketplace because our phone kept ringing about it — mostly from people who wanted to sell theirs. Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace work, but neither is a place a serious hyperbaric buyer looks first. And every week we'd get calls from owners hoping we'd help them offload a chamber for free. That's not a fit for our team. So we built the thing that solves both problems at once.

What It Is

A dedicated listing service for used hyperbaric chambers. Sellers post their unit, buyers browse, and the two parties transact directly. Prestige provides the shelf space and stays out of the way. Think of it like Facebook Marketplace, but specific to hyperbaric chambers and running on a domain that's already ranked for the search terms serious buyers actually type.

How It Works for Sellers

Post one chamber, keep 100% of the sale. The listing fee is a flat $300, paid at checkout through Shopify like anything else on our site. Non-refundable once your listing is published — we can't verify sale outcomes and we're not going to try, so we don't sell a refund window. If your listing gets rejected in review (missing photos, wrong item, misleading claims), the fee is refunded in full before it publishes.

Rolling listings, 30-day refresh. Chambers don't sell as quickly as bicycles, so we don't put a fixed expiration date on your listing. Instead, every 30 days we email you a one-click refresh link. Click it and your listing keeps running. Miss it and your listing auto-unpublishes 7 days after the reminder — log in whenever you're ready, click Refresh, and it's back up. No new fee. The refresh is what tells buyers the chamber is still available at the price you posted; without it, listings quietly go stale and waste everyone's time.

You submit photos, model, hours, condition notes, location, asking price, and the phone/email you're comfortable sharing with buyers. We publish it within a business day. Buyers who want to reach you have to log in to a Prestige account first — that means every conversation with a buyer comes with a real name and an email attached to it.

How It Works for Buyers

Browsing is public. To see a seller's contact info, you'll need a free Prestige account (same one you'd use to buy anything else on the site). Then you reach out to the seller directly. The two of you handle it — price, payment, pickup, and any pre-purchase inspection you want to do.

Every unit is sold AS-IS by the seller. Prestige hasn't inspected, tested, or verified anything on your behalf. That's not a caveat — that's the design.

What Prestige Doesn't Do (On Purpose)

We won't answer pre-purchase questions about specific listings. Not "is this a fair price," not "should I buy this one," not "can you go look at it for me." Those questions are outside the scope of the marketplace service, and answering them for free is what we're specifically trying to stop doing. It's why the marketplace exists.

We don't warranty marketplace units. We don't guarantee condition. We don't verify whether the seller actually owns the unit — they warrant it in the terms, but we're not doing title searches on a chamber.

The 20% Facilitation Option (When You Actually Want Us Involved)

Here's the one door into Prestige involvement: if a buyer and seller have independently agreed on a sale price and want the whole transaction handled end-to-end — pre-purchase inspection, coordinated pickup and shipping, white-glove reinstallation at the buyer's home, payment routing, and reasonable mediation if something goes sideways — we'll do the whole engagement for 20% of the agreed sale price, paid up front by the buyer.

A few things worth being clear about on the 20%:

• The buyer pays it, in full, up front, before we lift a finger.
• It covers the full engagement or nothing. We are not offering “just the inspection” or “just the move” as separate line items in the marketplace context. The whole package or none of it.
• Both parties consent in writing before we take any action.
• Even under a 20% engagement, Prestige is a paid coordinator, not a party to the sale, and doesn't provide a warranty on the unit.

You request it through the facilitation form, not by calling us. We'll then reach out to both parties to confirm scope and collect payment.

Pricing at a Glance

Why a Flat Fee Instead of a Commission on the Sale

A percentage of sale price would make us a party to the deal, and we don't want to be. If we take a cut of the sale, we suddenly have a stake in whether it closes, at what price, and whether either side ends up unhappy. That drags us into everything from disputes to warranty expectations we don't offer. The flat listing fee keeps the incentives clean — you pay to be listed, we host the listing, that's the transaction. The sale itself stays between buyer and seller unless you both explicitly opt into facilitation.

Why Buyers Should Look Here First

Hyperbaric chambers sit at a weird spot in the used market. They're expensive enough that Craigslist listings get thin and full of tire-kickers, but too niche for eBay to rank well. Meanwhile, the buyer pool is people who type things like "used hyperbaric chamber for sale" into Google, and this site already ranks for that. That's the whole thesis — concentrate the small, specialized market on a domain buyers already trust.

How to Post a Listing

1. Head to the Sell page.
2. Have your photos, model, hours, condition notes, asking price, and pickup city ready.
3. Pay the $300 (apply a promo code if you have one).
4. Fill out the listing form. We review within one business day and publish or refund.
