Hyperbaric Chamber Repair

Four ways to get a chamber fixed, cheapest first, with the real price of each. Most people who think they need a visit do not.

Start by working out which of four things you actually need

Most people arrive here having decided they need a repair visit, and a good share of them do not. A chamber that will not reach pressure and a chamber with a burnt power switch are both “broken”, but one of them is a $125 box of filters and the other is a $120 part you can fit with a screwdriver. Sending a van out for either would cost you more than the chamber needed.

So the order below is the order we work in, cheapest first. Nothing here obliges you to go through every step — if you already know the compressor is dead, skip to the part.

Step one · no charge

Send a photo and let us identify it

Send a photo of the failed component and a photo of the label on your chamber. We will confirm what it is and whether it fits before you order anything. Most identifications come back in under an hour during business hours. This costs nothing and it is the step that saves the most money.

Step two · from $120

If it is a shelf part, fit it yourself

Six components account for most of what fails on a chamber in normal use, and we keep all six on the shelf in Florida with published prices — intake filters, the air compressor pump, the oxygen compressor pump, the 30 amp upgraded power switch, the industrial chamber cooler and a standalone 10 LPM concentrator. Prices and part numbers are on the chamber parts and repair components page, along with which symptom usually points at which part. We are not going to reprint that table here.

This is owner-serviceable work, and it is still a pressure vessel. If you get into it and are not sure, stop and call.

Step three · $650

Remote diagnostic support, up to 60 minutes

Guided troubleshooting over video with someone who works on these, no site visit. This is the right step when the symptom does not map cleanly to a part, when you have already changed the obvious thing and it did not help, or when you want a second opinion before committing to a visit. Ask us whether the diagnostic fee can be applied toward on-site repair or maintenance if it turns out you need one — that is a real question worth asking rather than an assumption.

Step four · $850 per visit

An on-site service visit

A single a la carte service visit. This is what you want when the fault is in the pressurised system rather than a bolt-on component, when the chamber has to be opened up, or when the problem is the installation rather than the chamber. If a chamber is going to need this more than about once a year, the annual plan below is cheaper.

If it keeps happening, stop buying visits

The Preventative Maintenance Plan is $1,500 per year against $850 for a single visit. The arithmetic is not subtle: two unplanned visits in a year cost more than the plan, and the plan changes filters and services pumps on a schedule rather than after they strand you mid‑session. If you are calling twice a year, you are paying more for worse service.

Coverage is a separate question from service. Extended parts and labour coverage is priced per additional year by product class — $4,000 for hardshell chambers and red light products, $2,000 for softshell chambers, cold plunge and sauna, $1,500 for clinical PEMF units — and it explicitly does not cover consumables and wear items. Filters are a wear item. A warranty plan will not pay for the thing that fails most often, which is worth knowing before you buy one expecting it to. Warranty plans and exclusions →

What tends to fail, by shell type

The two chamber classes do not age the same way, and it changes what a repair looks like. On a softshell the consumable path runs through the flexible shell itself and its closure, so the failures are wear failures and the fix is usually a replacement rather than a rebuild. On a hardshell the vessel outlives everything attached to it, so what needs attention is the sealing surfaces and the valve and relief hardware on a schedule, and a fault is more often diagnosed than swapped.

Neither is worse. They just fail differently, which is why the same $850 visit can be a twenty-minute job on one and half a day on the other.

Honest limits on what we can do

  • We stock parts for the chambers we sell and service. A brand we have not worked on may need a fitment check before we can quote, and there are configurations where the honest answer is that the original manufacturer is the right call.
  • Travel distance is part of the price. We are in Holiday, Florida. Distance affects scope and travel fees may apply outside the local service area.
  • No price here is a booking. Scope of work is verified before any job is confirmed or scheduled. Payment is not a confirmed booking. Site conditions, chamber model, doorway and stair access, electrical service and travel distance all affect final scope and price, and nothing is dispatched until scope is confirmed in writing.
  • We are not going to guess at a quote from a description. Photos of the component and the chamber label are what make a real number possible.

Repair is not the same as an inspection

A repair fixes a specific fault you already know about. An inspection is a check on whether the chamber is safe and compliant when nothing has obviously gone wrong — before buying a used one, after it has been moved, or when an insurer or facility asks for NFPA 99 documentation. Different question, different visit. Chamber inspection and compliance verification →
