The AC Maintenance Kit adds a dedicated service valve and drain hose to the return line of your chamber’s AC water chiller. The chiller’s own water pump pushes the old water out through the drain hose and into a bucket, so you drain from the very end of the loop instead of pushing dirty water back through the system.

Why It Gives a Better Flush

The kit installs on the hose that connects to the chiller port labeled LOW TEMP WATER INLET, the return line. Water reaching that point has already been pumped through the internal AC fan unit in the chamber, so when you drain here you are draining the water at the very end of the system.

That means the old water and sediment go into your bucket instead of back through the chiller and chamber AC. The pump does the work and the hose goes straight into the bucket, so the job stays clean and easy.

How to Flush Your AC System

  1. Install the service valve kit on the return line going into the chiller’s Low Temp Water Inlet.
  2. Place a 5-gallon bucket under the kit’s drain hose.
  3. Turn on the water chiller and open the new service valve. The pump pushes the old water into the bucket.
  4. Close the valve before the reservoir runs low, then refill with fresh water.
  5. Let the fresh water circulate to flush the unit, then open the valve and drain again.
  6. Keep adding fresh water and draining until it runs clean. Close the valve and top off for normal use.

Only service the AC system when the chamber is not in session, keep the valve closed during normal operation, and do not let the chiller run dry. Full steps with photos are in the AC Maintenance Kit Owner Manual (PDF).
