Pediatric Non-Rebreather Oxygen Mask — For Hyperbaric Chamber (High Concentration)
High-concentration non-rebreather sized for children ages 2–12.
High-Concentration Oxygen Delivery Sized for Children
The Pediatric Non-Rebreather Mask delivers 80–95% FiO2 — the same high-concentration oxygen therapy adults receive from full-size non-rebreather masks, sized specifically for children ages 2–12. Whether you're supporting a child through wellness sessions, athletic recovery, or clinical HBOT protocols, this pediatric-fit mask ensures proper seal and effective oxygen delivery without the discomfort and leaks that come from using oversized adult masks on smaller faces.
Every mask in our line is chosen for hyperbaric chamber use — softer materials, better seals, and quieter operation than the disposable pediatric masks found in general medical supply catalogs.
Why the Pediatric NRB Is Optimized for Hyperbaric Chamber Use
Correctly sized for pediatric faces. A proper mask seal is essential for delivering high FiO2. Adult masks on child faces leak around the cheeks and chin, dropping delivered oxygen concentration from 90% down to 60% or lower — completely negating the point of using an NRB. Our pediatric fit provides an actual seal across children's smaller facial contours.
One-way valves prevent rebreathing of exhaled CO2. The three-valve non-rebreather design (one inhalation valve on the reservoir bag, two exhalation valves on the mask sides) ensures the child inhales only fresh oxygen from the reservoir — never re-inhaling their own exhaled air. This maintains true high-concentration delivery throughout the session.
Reservoir bag maintains steady FiO2. The reservoir bag fills with oxygen between breaths, providing an on-demand supply for the next inhalation. This design maintains 80–95% FiO2 even during quick or shallow pediatric breathing patterns.
Soft materials for comfort during long sessions. HBOT sessions can run 60–90 minutes. Standard pediatric masks — designed for short emergency use — become uncomfortable quickly. Our masks use softer medical-grade rubber and a gentler head strap for full-session comfort.
Universal oxygen fitting. Connects to standard hyperbaric chamber oxygen delivery lines, oxygen concentrators, and portable tanks with no adapter needed.
FiO2 Performance Chart
| Oxygen Flow Rate (LPM) | Delivered FiO2 | Recommended Use |
|---|---|---|
| 6 LPM | 60% | Minimum — reservoir may not fully inflate |
| 8 LPM | 75% | Suitable for lower-pressure mild HBOT |
| 10 LPM | 85% | Standard home HBOT delivery |
| 12 LPM | 90% | Recommended flow for most sessions |
| 15 LPM | 95% | Maximum practical FiO2 (higher flows waste oxygen) |

Age & Fit Notes
Best fit for children ages 2–12 with typical facial dimensions. Very small children (under 2) may need infant-specific masks — please contact us for guidance. Larger children (age 12+) or children with wider facial features may prefer the adult NRB mask for a better seal.

Pediatric HBOT — What Parents Should Know
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been studied for a range of pediatric applications. For children undergoing HBOT for any purpose, mask fit and comfort are especially important — a poorly-fitting or uncomfortable mask can cause a child to resist the session entirely, undermining the therapy. That's why we prioritize soft materials, gentle head straps, and proper pediatric sizing over the cheapest possible construction.

Replacement Schedule
For optimal safety, hygiene, and oxygen delivery efficiency, we recommend replacing your mask at least once every 30 days with regular use. High-frequency users (daily sessions) or clinical operators should replace more often. Masks are single-patient devices — do not share between users.
Signs your mask needs replacement:
- Discoloration or yellowing of the plastic or rubber
- Cracking, stiffening, or loss of pliability in seals
- Any tear, hole, or damage to the reservoir bag or tubing
- Loss of head-strap elasticity
- Persistent odor after cleaning

Backed by Peer-Reviewed Research
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy works because pressurized oxygen dissolves into blood plasma at levels far higher than normal breathing allows — reaching tissues that regular circulation cannot. The efficiency of that oxygen delivery depends heavily on the mask and delivery system used inside the chamber.
