Care Case #1

Cat Haven Rescue, Inc.

Open — needs a chamberVerification in progressFlorida

An all-volunteer Florida cat rescue that wants a hyperbaric chamber for recovery care in its foster network. No donated unit has been found for this case yet.

The case

Written by Prestige from this organization's own public materials and filings, linked below. Their own statement replaces this text as soon as they send it.

Cat Haven Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer, foster-based cat rescue operating in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. It has been recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt organization since May 2014 under EIN 46-3742570, and it is a partner in the Best Friends Animal Society network. It has no shelter building: cats live in volunteers' homes until they are adopted.

In its own published words, the rescue is "a dedicated team of volunteers committed to helping homeless and abused cats," and its stated goal is "to spay/neuter every cat that crosses our path and find homes for all the friendly cats/kittens we can." Alongside adoption, it runs a TNVR program (trap, neuter, vaccinate, return) for feral colonies and includes a health check and vaccinations with every adoption.

That is the shape of the need. A foster network takes in the cats nobody else takes: upper respiratory infections that will not clear, wounds from cars and fights, abscesses, post-surgical cases, and neonatal kittens that arrive sick. Every one of those is care a volunteer pays for out of pocket or a rescue pays for at a clinic, and the bill is why a rescue turns cats away.

The rescue has told Prestige it wants a chamber for feline recovery care. What it does not have is a chamber, and it does not have the budget to buy one. Prestige is not going to sell it one. If someone has a unit sitting unused, this is a case where it would run every week instead of holding up a corner of a garage.

Prestige has committed to handling the part it is actually good at: inspecting a donated unit, moving it, installing it, and setting it up. No money changes hands in either direction, and the rescue pays nothing.

The details

  • Where the chamber would live: Not yet fixed. The rescue is a foster network rather than a single facility, so the host location has to be named before a unit moves. Prestige will not install into a site it has not inspected.
  • Who would use it: Cats in the rescue's foster and TNVR programs, and only under the direction of the rescue's own veterinarian. Prestige does not direct animal care and does not make treatment decisions.
  • How many people it would serve: An animal case. The rescue has not yet given a caseload figure, so no number is published here rather than an estimate.
  • What this case still needs: Not yet sourced. No donated unit has been identified for this case. A small single-occupant soft or hard chamber would fit the use; the rescue's veterinarian sets the protocol.

This listing was built from public records, not from a signed release. Written consent and verification documents are still being collected, which is why the case is marked Verification in progress. It comes down immediately on request. Individuals in the Prestige Cares program are listed by first name and state only — we hold the rest, including all verification documents, privately. Prestige Hyperbaric is not a 501(c)(3), donated chambers transfer as-is, and nothing on this page is medical advice. Full program terms →

What Prestige Cares is not, in plain language

We are not a nonprofit. Prestige Hyperbaric is a for-profit Florida business. Prestige Cares is something we run ourselves, at our own cost, because we are already the people moving and installing these chambers. It is not a charity, not a foundation, not a 501(c)(3), and not a registered charitable solicitation. Nothing given through it is a tax-deductible charitable contribution, and we cannot issue a receipt, an acknowledgment letter, or an EIN for a deduction.

We do not take money. Not any amount, not for any reason. Prestige Cares moves physical equipment from one owner to another. We do not accept cash, checks, card payments, wire transfers, crypto, gift cards, or pledges for this program; we do not run a fundraiser, a donation button, a GoFundMe, or a giving page; and we do not take a cut, a commission, a finder's fee, or an administrative fee out of anything. Recipients pay nothing — not for the chamber, not for the transport, not for the install. Donors pay nothing. If anyone contacts you asking for money in the name of Prestige Cares, it is a scam — hang up and email us. If you want to give money somewhere, we will gladly point you at organizations that can actually take it: give directly to a partner instead →

We are not affiliated with anyone. Prestige Cares is independent. We are not partnered with, endorsed by, sponsored by, accredited by, or acting on behalf of any charity, nonprofit, veterans organization, animal-welfare group, church, hospital, insurer, government program, or chamber manufacturer. Any organization named anywhere on this site is named only so people can find help that exists, and that mention is not a relationship in either direction. An applicant being a registered nonprofit does not make Prestige one.

Nothing here is medical or veterinary advice, and nothing is guaranteed. Whether hyperbaric oxygen is appropriate is between a recipient and their own licensed provider, or between a rescue and its veterinarian. Prestige Hyperbaric is a wellness center, not a medical facility. We do not diagnose, prescribe, or treat, we promise no outcome, and applying does not entitle anyone to a chamber — placement depends entirely on whether a donor offers one.
