Filter Day in the Prestige Workshop: Four Filters, Ten Minutes, a Happier Compressor
Four fresh intake filters, one all-in-one unit, and a technician who knows every part by name. Here is how filter day works in our Holiday, Florida workshop, and how to do it at home.
Pull up a stool. Today we are showing you the least glamorous, most satisfying ten minutes in our Holiday, Florida workshop: filter day. Four fresh intake filters, one all-in-one unit, a clipboard, and a technician who has done this enough times to hear the difference when it is done right.
The box that does the breathing
Most Prestige chambers run off an all-in-one unit: the cabinet that holds the air compressor and, on most models, the oxygen concentrator and cooling. Every bit of air your chamber receives is pulled through that cabinet's intake filters first. Clean filters let the compressor breathe easy, stay cool, and bring the chamber up to pressure on its normal schedule. That is the whole job, and it is a big one.
So we treat filters like the heartbeat of the machine. Not an afterthought, not a someday item. A scheduled, checked, signed-off step.
How filter day goes on the bench
Power down and open up. The unit gets switched off and unplugged before anything else. Then the filter housing door opens and our technician counts the positions. Most all-in-one units take four.
Read the old filters. This is the fun part for us. A used filter tells a story: a light grey means a clean room, a darker tone usually means a garage, a dusty corner, or a furry roommate. That read helps us coach owners on how often their particular room needs a change.
Wipe the seats. Before the new filters go in, the housing gets a quick wipe so the fresh filters seat cleanly against their mounts. Small detail, real difference.
Seat, check, close. Each new filter is pressed home square, the door is latched, and the unit is powered back up. Then we listen. A happy compressor has a steady, even sound, and our team knows it by ear.
Write it down. The date and the change go on the checklist. Old school, on purpose, so the next service visit starts with facts instead of guesses.
Why we keep filters on the shelf
Here is a brass-tacks truth: the best maintenance is the kind that is easy to do on time. That is why intake filters live on our parts wall in real quantity, not on a backorder list. When an owner calls and says it is time, we can ship the same set our technicians use on the bench.
You can now order them yourself, too. Our All-in-One Replacement Intake Filter is $25 per filter with a flat $25 shipping charge, and it ships from our Florida shop. Most units need four, so set the quantity to four for a complete change. Not sure your unit matches? Send a photo of your current filter and its label to prestigehyperbaric@gmail.com or call 727-591-4268, and a real technician will confirm the fit before you buy. Our parts cross-reference lists compatible units in detail.
Do it at home like a pro
Filter day is one of the simplest jobs a chamber owner can own, and we love teaching it during training. Follow the service interval in your owner's manual, and change filters sooner if the unit lives in a dusty room, a garage, or near pets. A filter that looks dark, or a chamber that takes a little longer to reach pressure than it used to, is your friendly reminder that it is time.
Keep it simple: unit off and unplugged, count the positions, swap all of them at once, seat them square, close it up, and jot down the date. If anything feels off, call us before you guess. That is literally what we are here for.
Small parts, big peace of mind
Filters are a tiny line on a parts list, but they say a lot about how we work. Our engineers design our own improvements, we keep parts on hand so routine care never turns into a waiting game, and we train every owner on daily checks and oxygen safety basics so the machine stays reliable, safe, and doing exactly what it should. Want a full once-over while you are at it? Book a chamber inspection and we will go through the whole system with you.
Buy from Prestige, get supported by Prestige forever—the same team who built it and installed it stays in your corner long after delivery day, and knows every part by name.
Prestige chambers are wellness equipment, and we keep our promises focused on what we control: reliable equipment, careful setup, safe operation, and real support. If you have questions about whether hyperbaric sessions are right for you, talk with a qualified healthcare professional.
Bottom line: four filters, ten calm minutes, and a compressor that keeps breathing easy. That is filter day at Prestige.
